Appointment Cancellation & Missed Appointment Policy
It is the aim of this practice to provide quality dental care to our patients on schedule and to use clinical time effectively. To achieve this aim, we have an appointment cancellation policy.
If your appointment time becomes inconvenient for you, we are always happy to change it if you provide us with a minimum of 24 hours’ notice (1 day). We would ideally like 48 hours (2 days) as this allows us time to schedule in a patient who may be in urgent need of our care.
Cancellation of an appointment
Patients are requested to give us at least 24 hours’ notice to cancel a dental appointment by ringing the practice on: 01977 682573. If we are unable to answer your call, please leave us a message and we will call you back. Alternatively, you can send us an email to info@elmetdentalcare.com.
We must make you aware that all missed appointments and late cancellations represent a cost to the practice.
Therefore, we would like to make all our patients aware there is a fee for private dental appointments that are missed or cancelled with less than 24 hours’ notice. The fee is based on the length of the appointment, for example you will be charged £60 if you miss a 30-minute appointment.
It is understandable that sometimes cancellations cannot be helped due to illness or emergency and we will take all valid circumstances into account.
Our goal in communicating our cancellation and missed appointment policy is to avoid any extra charges being passed on to the patient.
It is our aim to telephone or write to patients after a missed appointment to understand the reason for non-attendance.
Any appeals about missed or cancelled appointment decisions should be made in writing to
